Greendale Hosts Javier Sanchez to Inspire, Empower Students and the Community

Javier Sanchez is not your typical motivational speaker. In fact, he is not ashamed to say that as a motivational speaker he is not a fan of motivational speaking. Sound like a contradiction? Javier explains his position quite eloquently, “A lot of speakers are very good at leaving their audience with a nice warm fuzzy feeling that is really great for that moment, but I want to do more than that. I don’t want to just be a part of powerful MOMENT. I want to be a part of a powerful MOVEMENT!”

Javier will bring his message to the Greendale Middle School students and the Greendale community on Thursday, March 3, 2016. The student presentation will take place from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. as part of the middle school’s annual Eggspress Yourself event. Adults are invited to attend that same evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.  to hear his message and challenge to experience life to the fullest in a healthy, safe, and positive way with those in attendance. The visit is being sponsored by Greendale Schools’ GAP Committee and the Greendale Health Department.

His unique blend of effective youth engagement expertise that comes from more than 20 years of experience in youth advocacy and his talent as a professional Stand-Up Comedian and Storyteller. “My goal is to give the audience real, practical, and relevant tools that they can activate in their lives from the moment they leave the auditorium.”

Javier’s message is simple, “Your past does not have to disqualify you from your future and every single person has a chance to make incredible things happen with their life starting with the choices they make from this moment on.” As a young person who struggled with grades, the pressure to fit in, and a lack of vision or sense of purpose, Javier knows firsthand what it’s like to feel like you have no choice but to live down to the low expectations of those around you. “I had to learn to live my message before I could share it with others.”

Javier is an Author and Youth Advocate, but most importantly to him he is a husband and father of two beautiful children. “The second best part of the work I do is having the chance to inspire, equip, and activate students and adults at schools, conferences, and community events across the United States and around the globe. The BEST part of the work I do is coming home to my family!”
